Well my new external SSD boot drive (previous post last night)  is working great running Ubuntu 10.10 just put my tools on and AV / Firewall  and good to go, boot's pretty quick from USB and runs smoothly but I can always go eSATAp if I want 3Gbps, so I have full dual boot without all the hassle of touching Windows 7 and upsetting my IT team and an extra 23 GB of storage :-)

The only minor delay in the proceedings was the pesky NVIDIA driver but if you use an external monitor to install the non open source NVIDIA Ubuntu 10.10 driver then all good.
